7 benefits of exfoliation

We all dream of soft, even and healthy skin, but how do you achieve it? Exfoliating is the solution! Make sure you exfoliate your skin once or twice a week to benefit from these 7 advantages.

  1. It removes dead skin cells and stimulates cell renewal, making your skin feel firmer, smoother, and wonderfully soft.
  2. Dead skin cells can accumulate and form a thick layer on your skin. By removing them, your skin gets a fresh, beautiful glow.
  3. Regular exfoliation can prevent impurities. An abundance of dead skin flakes can clog pores, leading to sebum buildup which, combined with bacteria, can cause pimples and blackheads.
  4. Moisturizing products like our Body Oil Bars and other skincare products are absorbed better by your skin.
  5. Regular exfoliation helps you tan faster and more evenly (but don't forget to apply sunscreen, of course). Do you like using self-tanner? Then exfoliation ensures you can apply the product more evenly.
  6. Our Scrub Bars are 100% microplastic-free. They contain natural exfoliating particles from lemon peel, almond, jojoba, and rice. Unfortunately, many scrubs on the market do contain microplastics.
  7. It prevents razor bumps and ingrown hairs.

In short, regularly exfoliating your skin ensures soft and healthy skin. It is therefore important to make exfoliation part of your skincare routine. But how exactly do you do this? In our other article, we explain step-by-step how to best use our Body Scrub Bars.

Tips for a great scrub session!

Our Body Scrub Bars are available in three lovely scents and contain natural exfoliating particles from almond, jojoba, and lemon peel. To get the most out of your Body Scrub Bar, we'd like to share a few tips:

1. Always exfoliate on wet skin. This reduces the impact of the scrub and prevents it from being harmful to your skin.
2. Exfoliate in circular motions without applying too much pressure.
3. Determine the 'hardness' of the scrub yourself by the pressure you apply.
4. Massage for about half a minute per body part.
5. Pay extra attention to rough spots, such as knees and elbows.
6. Rinse your skin with lukewarm water after exfoliating.
7. Pamper your skin afterward with a moisturizing product, such as our Body Oil Bars.
8. Don't exfoliate too often; for most people, twice a week is sufficient. If you have sensitive skin, stick to once a week.
