Hooray, Shampoo Bars is 5 years old! In 2018, we started our fight against single-use plastic by developing the first 100% plastic-free Shampoo Bar. This has since grown into an extensive plastic-free range, and together we have already saved millions of plastic bottles.

The origin of ShampooBars.nl

Hi, we are Lyan and Mark, and 5 years ago we founded ShampooBars.nl.

In 2017, the idea arose when we discovered that a plastic bottle has a lifespan of 450 years and the seas are full of them.

We found it bizarre that most personal care products consist of 80% water and are therefore packaged in large, polluting plastic bottles.

In 2018, we therefore developed the first 100% plastic-free Shampoo Bar in the Netherlands. We started at the kitchen table, and you can still feel and experience that. We know exactly what's in our products and stand behind every ingredient.

Soon, more people joined our plastic-free mission, with our collaboration with WWF as the icing on the cake.

Together with our amazing team, more than 200,000 households, and 1,000 points of sale, we have already saved millions of plastic bottles.

But we are far from finished with our plastic-free mission; together with you, we would like to ensure EVEN less plastic. Thank you for your support! Will you celebrate our 5th anniversary with us? 💚
