ShampooBars.nl launches national trade-in campaign against plastic pollution: 'Make the world happy, choose plastic-free!'

Spankeren, April 2025 – As part of the #MayPlasticFree campaign, ShampooBars.nl is organizing a nationwide campaign throughout May to raise awareness about plastic pollution in the bathroom. Together with twelve physical points of sale across the Netherlands, the sustainable personal care brand is calling on consumers to exchange their empty plastic shampoo bottles for a free trial pack of mini Shampoo Bars.

Visitors can hand in their empty plastic shampoo bottles at one of the participating stores and receive a free trial pack with plastic-free Shampoo Bars in return. With this, ShampooBars.nl demonstrates how easy it is to switch to a sustainable, plastic-free showering experience.

For those without a nearby point of sale, ShampooBars.nl offers an attractive alternative: a trial pack can be ordered via the website, including free shipping.

A Growing Plastic Problem

The campaign addresses an urgent problem: global plastic pollution. Only 9% of all plastic is recycled, while production increases by 8% annually. Many plastic packages are used only once and then end up in landfills, incinerators, or – even worse – in our oceans. It is expected that by 2050, the ocean will contain more plastic than fish. ShampooBars.nl aims to encourage consumers to take a step towards less plastic with this campaign.
